It's the final countdown for our match campaign! Please help our boys build the future of Klal Yisrael in Eretz Yisrael! https://www.charidy.com/YesodeiYisrael
Yesterday was one of those “you can’t-script-this” moments.
A group of our boys had the opportunity to visit Rabbi Eli Stefansky at Mercaz Daf Yomi for a private vort on the daf of the day about the mitzvah of tefillin.
Right around the same time as they were sitting with him, our boys unknowingly hit the first fundraising milestone they had match-pledged; Committing to make 1,000 pairs of tzitzis for chayalim once the campaign reached its first major goal of 25% of its $360k goal. At 75% the entire yeshiva will learn all of Shas Mishnayos in one night, culminating in a siyum before the end of the academic year. And at 100% our entire yeshiva will spend three full days helping to rebuild three communities in the South of Israel devastated from war. They will learn with community members, help rebuild homes that were destroyed and run programs and carnivals to uplift local children.
Rabbi Stefansky was impressed with these young men taking action to build their own futures and the future of Klal Yisrael in Eretz Yisrael.
Rabbi Stefansky didn’t just speak about the daf. He spoke about them. He spoke to them. He gave them genuine encouragement and real praise for stepping up to help fundraise for their incredible Yeshiva. And then he said something that stopped us in our tracks: He emphasized how much this yeshiva means for the oleh community. How it provides a real, viable, high-level Torah option for families who want to make Aliyah with teens but have been skeptical about chinuch options in the past.
For those of you who are daily Daf listeners, you know what it means when Rabbi Stefansky believes in something. When he thinks an institution is worth supporting… That's huge.
And then, in true Rabbi Stefansky fashion, he pledged to donate a big screen to the yeshiva so our boys can plug into his daily Daf Yomi shiur and feel up close and personal again (since some of our boys who had attended his shiur consistently over the summer before zman began have been missing his in-person shiur).
If you’re a Rabbi Stefansky regular, you understand what that kind of personal connection means and how energizing it must have been to have this opportunity to learn with the Rav up close and personal. Now imagine that kind of energy palpably pulsing through the walls of a yeshiva on a regular basis. This is Yesodei Yisrael. A yeshiva built for those teenage boys who chose to move to Israel and become pioneers in building the Jewish future in Israel.
You can’t help but want to support these boys in their efforts.
If you want to help build serious Torah options for the next generation of Anglo families in Israel…
This is one of those days where you have the opportunity to transform energy into action.
We’re almost there!
Please support their efforts today! It’s the final countdown.
