As Sukkos approached, the talmidim of Yesodei Yisrael joined their Rebbeim for a special visit to the Arba Minim Shuk in Ayalon Park. After learning the halachos of the Daled Minim in shiur, the boys had the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice, identifying non-kosher, kosher and mehudar items with confidence and care.
In preparation for the trip, Rabbi Levi’s shiur examined dozens of esrogim samples, many intentionally non-kosher, challenging the boys to determine which were pasul, which were kosher, and which were truly mehudar. This hands-on approach brought the learning to life, blending halachic understanding with real-world application.
After completing their selections at the Shuk, the boys were encouraged to take a break and bring their enthusiasm and energy home, helping their own families prepare for Sukkos and build their own sukkahs, reinforcing the important lesson that chessed begins at home.
To cap off an incredible day, the talmidim were all invited to a celebratory dinner at Halo Teiman in Na’imi Mall, generously sponsored by some of the families who were helped during the yeshiva’s recent Sukkah Building Project. It was a heartfelt expression of appreciation and a meaningful way to close an inspiring z’man.
